Suburbia SF Style?

A tract of 182 new construction homes in San Francisco? Believe it. After a decade of opposition, developers have broken ground on Summit 800 (formerly 800 Brotherhood Way). The project is located near Lake Merced and the San Francisco Golf Club, close to the Sunset District. The 7.7 acre parcel will have 182 homes, a mix of attached and detached homes, some with yards and all with a decidedly suburban feel.

Neighborhood groups have argued that the parcel had been set aside as public land in 1958, but after ten years the Board of Appeals ruled to move forward with the project. Over the next six months the first six to eight homes will be built, after which the developer will continue to build homes as fast as they can sell them. The marketing company for the project says they are excited for this type of property to be built in the City, which will give residents the space and yard of the suburbs combined with the convenience of city living.
SF is Dog Paradise
San Francisco is a city of people who love their food, but right up there in the ranks is their love of dogs. In fact San Francisco has been ranked nationally as the number 5 top city for dogs. We get this honor due to our incredible Walk Score and number of dog parks. Also, there are plenty of dog-friendly restaurants as well as a ton of dog-friendly bars. Heck, you can even take your dog on MUNI! We just wonder…how is it possible that Portland beat us for the #1 spot?
It's All About Science
It's all the buzz around town… The Exploritorium has a new location! After decades at the beautiful and cavernous Palace of Fine Arts locale, The Exploratorium has relocated to Pier 15 and is now open. Please go take a look at the new digs and let me know what you think! The Exploratorium's scientific discovery is always a draw, be it the Alice in Wonderland parquet floor illusion room or the giant cement whisper ears (if you don't know what I'm talking about you should hurry and go to the Exploratorium to indulge your inner junior physicist!) As San Francisco is a food-centric town the Seaglass Caf is getting almost as much chatter as the museum itself.
