Battle of the Avenues
This week we have a Pacific Ocean battle -- The Richmond vs The Sunset.
Condos:
Richmond 426 5th Ave - $639,000 2 bed, 1.5 bath, 1,000 square feet Top floor condo in a 2 unit building, 1 car parking, large deeded deck and shared yard and a walker's paradise! 426 5th Avenue
Sunset 1663 19th Ave - $649,888 2 bed, 2 bath, 1,650 square feet Bright townhome close to transportation and amenities.
Single Family Homes:
Richmond 571 21st Ave - $614,950 2 bed, 1.25 bath, 1,280 square feet Bonus rooms (not legal) downstairs, great front "yard" area, 1 car garage.
Sunset 2711 38th Ave - $638,000 3 bed, 3 bath, 1,160 square feet Remodeled kitchen and bath, bonus rooms down, level backyard.
Restaurant Battle:
Richmond: Pacific Cafe - Quietly known as some of the best seafood in the city. Quaint and warm space, free white wine while you wait and fish so fresh you'd think it jumped right out of the ocean -- which it may have.
Sunset: The Pizza Place - Relatively new to the Sunset, they offer up the closest thing to NY pizza in the Bay Area in addition to a few staple dishes. Surfers and families flock to this great space to enjoy good food and great people.

| Strike 1 for SOMA's Lucky Strikes |
Years ago the city of San Francisco had 2 great facilities for bowling: Presidio Bowl, which still stands today and a LARGE bowling alley on Haight Street which now houses Amoeba Music. Today, we have Yerba Buena Bowling, but it's a very small facility.
Lucky Strikes is trying to add another bowling facility to the mix. The main obstacle they face: their business model is more akin to a bar/club than a bowling alley and the residents of The Beacon are voicing some major concerns.
Details: 21,466 square feet 12 public lanes 4 pool tables 1,000 square foot private lounge 1,300 square foot outdoor patio
Located at the site of the former Borders Books on 3rd and King St across from the SF Giants ballpark, the main gripe coming from Beacon residents revolves around the outdoor patio that would be open until 2am. The initial opening date was slated for April 1st -- that's not happening. Will we be able to watch our World Series Champs and then grab a pint and 10 frames? To be continued…

| Six Million Dollar Views |
 |
Every once in a while a unique property pops up that warrants a look regardless of whether you can afford to purchase it. We've seen firehouses and churches renovated into fabulous homes. Now we see a reverse renovation: a Nob Hill penthouse that comes on the market as a shell -- it's been deconstructed!
Address - 1170 Sacramento #19C Square Feet - 2,814 List Price - $5,900,000 HOA Dues - $6,465 per month!
Highlights: Views! Expansive views from the penthouse and wrap around deck. Views to the north, west and east. Two car parking, separate maid's room (clearly you need a maid to keep to keep all those windows clean!), and a 24 hour doorman.
Trust sale -- first bid set at 5.9M. If a view is worth a million, this could be worth 20! |
